What does the Qur'an say about Shaytan (the devil)?

The Qur'an is direct about Shaytan: he is a declared enemy, so treat him as one. He does not want your stumble to be small — he calls his followers toward the Blaze. Naming him clearly is the first defense.

“Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.”— 35:6 (Saheeh International)
