What does the Qur'an say about Allah's forgiveness?

No matter what a person has done, the Qur'an tells them not to lose hope in Allah's mercy. Allah describes Himself as the Forgiving, the Merciful, and promises to forgive all sins for the one who turns back.

“Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."”— 39:53 (Saheeh International)
