The Prophet ﷺ taught that when you mount your ride to travel, you recite the words the Qur'an places on the tongue of every traveler — praising the One who made the journey possible and remembering that all travel ends in return to Him.
لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقْرِنِينَLitastawoo 'alaa zuhoorihee summa tazkuroo ni'mata Rabbikum izastawaitum 'alaihi wa taqooloo Subhaanal lazee sakhkhara lana haaza wa maa kunnaa lahoo muqrineen“That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.”Qur'an 43:13 · Surah Az-Zukhruf (Saheeh International)
وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَWa innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa lamunqaliboon“And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return."”Qur'an 43:14 · Surah Az-Zukhruf (Saheeh International)
The Qur'an's travel words praise Allah "who subjected this for us," acknowledging that safe arrival is His gift — and close by remembering the ultimate journey back to Him.
